The "I Ching" is an ancient Chinese book of divination also called "The Book of Changes."The diviner manipulates a group of yarrow stalks producing sets of six. Each set is related to one of 64 hexagrams representing relations between the Yin and the Yang and much more. I did 64 graphite drawings creating my symbolism for each hexagram and selected some for paintings. Below, the first four are 26" X 28" canvases, then nine 8" X 8"watercolor studies, and finally eighteen of 5" X 5" drawings.
